When you live up north in Connecticut, there is nothing like staying down in Miami Beach in January and heading to the Pegasus World Cup. I highly recommend heading to dinner at Smith & Wollensky in Miami Beach and sitting on the 2nd floor balcony overlooking the water. Now, my heart will be always be at the Grill at the Smith and Wollensky in NYC where Seamus is pouring drinks, but getting their amazing food, service and hospitality in Miami is truly a one of a kind experience. At the Pegasus, you got to watch full fields, and single race handles climb towards $4 million dollars. It was crazy. Zulu Alpha took the Pegasus Wold Cup Turf race and Mucho Gusto coasted and dominated the Pegasus World Cup race. I should've known when I looked over before the race, and I saw Bob Baffert's right hand man, Jimmy Barnes, looking "cool as a whistle." The Pegasus was a great way to start 2020 off. The purses might have been declined, but the product didn't change. I believe this is a very important year in the horse racing industry. Hopefully we can come together as one and get this right. Tampa Bay is next, see you soon.
