On Tampa Bay Downs biggest race day there was amazing weather for a northeast boy, but probably a little chilly for the locals. The average field size of the day was 9.75, great for the average fan and even better for the horseplayers. I really do enjoy every time I come to visit Tampa Bay Downs. They put on a great product and you can never have a bad day there. Prior to the start of the Tampa Bay Derby all eyes were on Sole Volante and Chance it as both the morning line favorites of the race, but King Guillermo had something to say about that. At 49-1 and paying $100.40 he stole the race with fashion winning by 4 3/4 lengths. I should've know with his Uncle Mo connections. With King Guillermo on his way to Kentucky Derby, Authentic won the San Felipe at Santa Anita. All eyes will focus this weekend to the Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park. On to the next race and see you soon NOLA.
